In the encounter I know a lot of times, if you find other Ways to serve them, you take care of it in a manner that's more than professional; you bring them really provide them several ways to alleviate some of the strain. Let's face it, how many people have been to a dentist and we're scared. I understand that fear of the dentist is up there with public speaking and perishing. They make it into a sense that it's more pleasant. You have got sedation dentistry, and so many different ways that you.
Today's dentists have an amazing amount of tools in their Toolbox to help patients overcome challenges and anxieties in the dental office. Among the most significant advents has been the use of sedation Dentist Plano Texas. And basically, it is very easy, you take two little pills, combined with laughing gas, everyone's heard of laughing gas, Pat, in the workplace. Laughing gas, traditionally, has been mildly successful, but for people who have plenty of anxiety, that laughing gas is simply not going to be powerful enough. We combine that with two pills; essentially the medication makes you sleepy or drowsy that the majority of people simply fall asleep. The wonderful thing about the drug Pat, is that it's an amnesia impact; you typically do not remember coming into the dental office. That is beautiful for people who are scared or worried about the dental office. What better thing to have happen for them to come in, have your job done, go home and never have any memory of a terrible experience. Patients are flocking to our office for this service. So that is great. Another thing that we have available is I.V. sedation. And everyone's heard of I.V. sedation. We can get an anesthesiologist come into the workplace and supply I.V. sedation. That's for people which are really, really, really terrified of the dentist which really need absolute control over their situation. We do not do this as often, however, the enteral sedation has been extremely popular. Patrick: So what are some of the new things that you guys do To make, well really, with all the new technology I understand; there's a whole lot of new technologies out there, everything from teeth whitening, I do not know all of the terms, but I am aware that there are several newer technologies in dental care which now which you could put them to sleep, in a feeling, and let them rest, and they are not afraid. While you're there you can definitely correct, redirect. What are a few of the things you guys do? Dr. Steve: Well, you know, one of those things that's real exciting to me Pat, is the use of lasers in dentistry. We've Got a device called a DIAGNOdent®. Basically what it is, it is a laser which that allows us to detect cavities. Formerly, we had to rely on dental x-rays. Everybody probably is Familiar with the small pick or the explorer which we use. But nowwe can Actually glow a directed laser beam on the tooth. And essentially, what that Does is that enables us to detect weaknesses in the enamel of the tooth, Pat. And what is so nice about that is it allows us to perform it in a 96% accuracy Rating, whereas previously a number of these cavities would stay undetected for Years, and years, and years to the point where they have big enough to see on an x-ray. So today with the DIAGNOdent®, we could be more conservative. We can Do a tiny filling, rather than waiting until the tooth needs a crown or Root canal on it, so that is exciting. Another thing which we just received in Our workplace is a Cone Beam CT Scan which allows us to perform CT scans in our office. What that allows us to do is take a three-dimensional image of our Patients' TMJ joints, of websites that we will need to assess for dental implants. And as a result of that, it enables us to be much more diagnostic, it allows us To be far more accurate with our dental therapy and it surely is a value to the patients.
